In 2023, MotoGP legend Valentino Rossi continued his full-time car racing career with a second season in the GT World Challenge Europe, one of the most hotly contested championships reserved for GT3-class cars.
While remaining under the Team WRT colors, The Doctor had to adapt to a new car than the one used in 2022.
Valentino’s season was marked by his first personal victory in the GT World Challenge, by winning race 2 at Misano together with Maxime Martin. The result became even more significant for being achieved on his home track.
“I cannot be happier. To win here at Misano is very special. We knew we could be strong, but winning is another story!”, commented Rossi after the victory.
Already at Brands Hatch, Rossi celebrated with Martin his first overall podium finish, with a second place in race 2. Another podium finish came in race 1 at Zandvoort, the venue of the last round on the calendar.
With the same Bell Racing helmet, Rossi also scored another GT success in race 2 in the Le Mans Cup round at the fabled 24 Hours of Le Mans circuit.
